Resort information
Val D’Isere is probably the world’s most famous
ski resort. Early December sees the hosting of the Premier
Neige Downhill competition as seen on Ski Sunday. It
is a very
lively venue for a skiing holiday with one of the best snow records
in Europe and an impressive amount of on and off-piste skiing. Combined
with Tignes it forms the skiing area Espace Killy with 300km of slopes,
200 snow cannons and 100 ski lifts.
The vast amount of runs means there is something to suit all levels of ability whether you are a total novice or an experienced off piste skier.
The Espace Killy’s record of snowfall is exceptional and snow coverage tends to be one of the best in Europe with good conditions facilitating great skiing right through the season from late November to the beginning of May.
As well as plentiful skiing there are many other activities to
experience including snow shoeing or cross country skiing through beautiful
and dramatic scenery, ice skating, swimming, 4x4 ice driving and for
the more adventurous ice climbing and
paragliding. For the less
energetic there are many wonderful shops and some of the hotels offer
relaxing spa and pampering facilities.
The resorts have a vast array of bars and restaurants catering for a wide range of tastes from lively après ski and party nights to quiet romantic gourmet dinners by a roaring fire. Taxis are readily available for nights out in Val D’Isere, Tignes and Les Brevières.
Skiing
A minimum of 3 days free ski hosting is included in your holiday to help you get the most out of your time on the slopes. You can benefit from our extensive knowledge of the area to find the quieter slopes and the ideal places for coffee stops, lunches and a well earned vin chaud at the end of a great days skiing.
Your holiday also includes our minibus service and
we will personally transfer you to and from the slopes each day.
From Les Boisses, which is approx 700m from the chalet across the dam,
you can ski directly into the charming village of Les
Brevières (blue run) that has numerous restaurants, bars and a
gondola lift into the nearby Tignes region above. We can also take
you direct to the lifts running out of Val D’Isere or Tignes le
Lac which are all within a short drive.
Boot and ski hire plus clothing and ski accessories are available from
the ski hire shop run by a very friendly couple in Les Boisses. We
are able to offer a 10%
discount on ski and boot rentals and bookings
can be made in advance to guarantee quality and availability.
There are numerous ski schools and mountain guides available which can either be booked in resort or in advance for busier periods. We will be happy to assist you with this and with the purchasing of your lift pass.
