- Sunday to Sunday bookings
- Low cost flights into Chambery airport
- Courtesy vehicle in resort
- Courtesy airport transfer to and from Chambery
Because we don't insist that you book a Saturday to Saturday holiday, you can benefit from the cheaper Sunday and mid-week flights and avoid the Saturday traffic jams. In addition you can enjoy the quieter slopes on the popular changeover day of Saturday. Included in your holiday is a courtesy transfer service to and from Chambery airport.
There are various low cost airlines that fly from a number of UK airports to Chambery and these include:
- Jet 2 - Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Newcastle
- Flybe - Southampton, Birmingham, Exeter
- Snowjet - Bristol, Gatwick, Stansted
- British Airways - London City
There are also flights into Lyon and Geneva airports at which car hire is readily available. We are 2.5 hours from Geneva, 3 hours Lyon and 1 hour 45 minutes from Chambery.
We offer our guests free Sunday transfers to and from Chambery airport . Taxi transfers can be arranged at other times (www.europetransfer.com) at an approximate cost of £120 return per person (subject to a minimum number of people). There are also regular bus and train services from all airports (www.altibus.com and www.alpski-bus.com). For the fastest (and most expensive!) transfer, helicopter trips are also available with SAF (0033 479 41 93 49).
There are plenty of car hire companies and as with flights the sooner you book the better the price. There is plenty of parking at the chalet and at nearby car parks.
The French authorities require that snow chains be carried during the winter season so please check before leaving the airport that the car hire company has supplied these.
Travel by car from Calais to the chalet takes approximately 10 -12 hours. See the website www.mappy.com for directions. If using sat nav then make sure your route goes via Albertville to avoid being directed through Italy and over the the Petite St Bernard pass which is closed in the winter. As above, snow chains are compulsory during the winter season.
